It is a sad situation when desperate individuals begin advertising and posting links to their P O R N related businesses featuring H a r d c o r e Sex in church forum sites such as this.
As well, it was already bad enough that other lowlifes such as these and those trying to sell you your own business for a minimum $2000.00 i n v e s t m e n t. Filling our mailboxes with their junk. Which 99 times out of 100 are not pertinent to our own interests, dreams, desires and for many, their own personal capabilities. Oh I'm not saying that it is not possible to get rich, but does it have to be a scheme? Does it have to be quick and an overnight success? It seems that no matter how much we stand up and say, Not Interested, These con artists think we haven't heard all they want to sell us.
Well, I'm tired of it. I live in whats known as a non re-buttal State, so that as soon as a telemarketer misconstrues my lack of interests, you know the part where I simply say, "I'm not interested" as that of my being unsure. Which is why they are trained to reply to that comment by saying many many things to keep you on the phone, hopefully until you change your mind. But as soon as they say any one thing other than, OK, Good Bye, and ending the call. Such as when they most often ask "Are you sure?." Where I live, that is a violation of the law, and that person and the company they are working for can be fined $2500 to $10000 each, per occurance.
Personally, I am listed on the Do Not Call List in my country. My home address is also registered to prevent all unrequested solicitations and junk mail from arriving here. It is a violation of State and Federal law to contact me at my home. If I am looking for your services, I will seek you out and you should be prepared for when I do, because I will check your references.
Furthermore, you should'nt begin our conversation by asking me to refer 3 other individuals and explain that how if I do, you can offer me a free dinner for 2. I am a chef, I've not eaten at any restaurant in the country which I find more pleasing than that which comes from my own kitchen. If you do what I employ you to do, and you do it well and to the best of your abilities. I may very well suggest others contact you, but under NO circumstances am I going to invite you to aggrevate my friends and family even before I myself know of your abilities and professionalism.
Many of those who mail out such unsolicited junk mail are relying on the rule of numbers. Send out 10 millions copies, recieve 7 orders. Send out another 10 million, even if back to the same people and maybe recieve even a dozen more orders.
For me personally, When I recieve junk mail, I contact the company, make note of the manager(s) name(s), inform them that this is junk mail and that I have not requested to recieve it. Further I inform them that any future mailings will be forwarded to the Federal Trade Commissions Center for SPAM. What I find most interesting is that these companies are required to provide a link for automatic removal (This is LAW). However, those links do not work. Furthermore, they suggest that I follow such link and remove myself. Wrong, I will not put forth any more effort to provide them having to not work. I did not put my name on their list, and I do not feel I am obligated to remove it myself. They put it there, they can remove it or face the fines associated with harrassment and the violation of interstate commerce laws which they may be charged with.
People lets wake up, lets not take this anymore. When you get this type of mail, do not click reply, (it'll come back as undelivered anyway) contact the ISP of the sender, contact their webmaster with your complaint. Investigate the originator of the mailing and contact those companies they are advertising, make your complaint known to them and by all means, if you are a citizen of the USA, forward the mailing to mailto:spam@uce.gov so remember now, click the forward button and address it to: spam at uce . gov. Especially make note to the FTC if you've tried the automatic removal or link provided by law and what the results were, such as mail continuing to come from them, or having mail returned as undeliverable. The FTC really appreciates having proof of such violations of our federal laws.
In closing, it is my hopes that others will find some comfort in knowing, you dont have to take this.
Respectfully
Reverend Jack
