Now then there are stories in ancient scriptures, and newer ones on the use of prayers for feats of strength, and agility, repel the spiritual aggressions of others, and the manifestations of the lost, or restless spirits. I have found that calling the hunter into my arms causes me to become stronger momentarily, and for the atheistic it is a wonderful use of primitive psychology. curious to see if you have had any similar thoughts, or experiences. i'm becoming more shaman than priest these days it seems, but I have always loved both sides of the same coin.

The way to kill a windigo, or shape shifter, is to recognize their true self and call them by name. Why? Because they can't stand the reality of being no more than human just like everyone else. Once their name is called they have no choice but to acknowledge they have no real power over anyone except themselves. I apply the same philosophy to any negative energy or spirit and let it be known that they have no authority over me except that which I allow.....and I never allow it! That is the power of the Wakan, or the Sacred, which is comprised of the Great Spirit of the Universe, God, that if we call on Him nothing has power or authority over us, His chosen ones. And anyone has the power to become one of His chosen ones if they know humility, love, truth and integrity enough to not follow after illusions.....God's Peace....To`na Wanagi

so you like me believe that words equal action on the metaphysical plane. I have always noticed that such prayers worked well though the hunters lord is not my primary patron. It is Inanna.

Not necessarily. Words can often be taken out of context and also be used to hurt others. I never desire to intentionally hurt anyone with actions or words, but rather, use words to encourage different perspectives that are useful for the purposes of peace.

My appeals are always to the one and only Supreme Spirit of the Universe. The Native American use of totems, whether plant, animal, mineral, or spirit guides, are symbolic and not literal. We see these representations as messages and lessons we can learn from our Creator. The legends and tales of our ancestors were meant to provide a moral of life and we used these totems to set forth the story to interest the listener. They are always analogies and metaphors meant to teach others of a higher calling to aspire to. In our modern day world, mankind has feverishly worked to humanize God and bring God down to our level. I pray this will never be the accepted outcome and that we will all open our eyes and ears to His Spirits of Truth, Justice, Hope, and Peace.....God's Peace....To`na Wanagi
