Looking for any animal blessings, prayers, etc. I live in Phoenix and Phoenix is in in the top 3 counties for euthaniadia and over population of animals. I want to go to the animal controls and bless the animals and pray for the adoption and pray for those who are forced before their time to cross over.
Thanks!

I have one. for the animals.
Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures.
You inspired St. Francis to call all animals his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this animal, by the power of your love, enable it to live according to Your plan. Amen.

God’s blessings upon your loving heart and innocent spirit, so that you may be protected and comforted, and so you may know the joy of the loving home you so richly deserve.
Dear Lawra,
Thank you so much for caring about our small friends who have no voice to appeal for their own cause.
May God bless you and keep you strong in His service.
Rev. Campbell.

True! I'm sure if I were witness to pork products in combat, mini or otherwise, I would have remembered that.
However Dr. Corey, you have been told on many occassions, the importance of sticking to your medication schedule.
God's blessings,
Rev. Campbell.

Rev. Lawra,
What a bold effort, Keeps us here at the ULC in the loop about how this goes for you. Perhaps I'll read an article about it during my morning coffee someday. It would be a nicer read to wake up to than hearing about another scandalous pastor driving drunk or defrauding people of money.
Amen to you!
And, as per your request:
Inspired to find past quotes on the subject I found for you from St. Maximos the Confessor,
"Man is not a being isolated from the rest of creation; by his very nature he is bound up with the whole of the universe... In his way to union with God, man in no way leaves creatures aside, but gathers together in his love the whole cosmos disordered by sin, that it may be transfigured by grace."
God Bless

I suppose you could "havarti" ham on rye and say so, but personally I think that would be a bit much.

There are at least two traditional Jewish blessings that might fit. The originals are in Hebrew, of course, but here are English translations I found online:
1) On seeing a rare or unusual animal: "Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who makes living creations different."
2) On seeing a particularly beautiful animal (or person): "Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who has such beauty in the world."
A bit off-point, here's another blessing that's used when seeing an astronomical event. I figure it applies to an eclipse, which I think was taken up in another thread:
Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, whose power and might fill the universe.
Regards,
Aaron

Ahh... DrCorey, are you hearing voices again?
Your ability to bring a light side to any subject or moment has not gone unnoticed. I am thankful to God for folks like you.

This just in....According to a very serious email there has been recent evidence linking the eating of ham to the H1N1 virus, also known as the swine flu. After a thorough scientific investigation authorities have decided it was just SPAM!
