Looking for advice links other posts etc about starting a web based church, what requirements are there that i need to do etc and any advice on the kind of content for the site i should try and include.

I am starting a christian web based church aimed at reaching out to the younger tech savvy crowd.

Also i heard talk about getting a church charter and having to get loads of things setup such as by laws and goals and all that, any examples of how to do all this or should i just track down another church online and see how they organised all that and get an idea how to lay out my site based on that etc

Thanks in advance

Just to add, i was thinking of having live streaming sermons weekly and maybe even special guest speakers and stuff like that, with archives of older sermons and having some fun religious based games on the site and other fun activities to keep the younger crowd interested, maybe even some form of social networking site integrated into it too

Clearly a forward thinking idea. I am certain others exist - and maybe a simple google search will find like models, from which to ask direct experience questions. As fro OFFICIAL STATUS - I would assume it is like any physical church. There is a reference book available from the monastery which discusses 'starting a church' and the rules would be the same - and tax codes as well. The IRS and Local Governments can't tell you where to place your 'structure' albeit on the net rather than the corner of 4th and Main.

Please keep me posted to your success - I would love to guest sermon one day.

I dont have any advice, but I experience a similiar problem too.

If I start Browse first, and then another application they both work fine. However, if I open up another application and then Browse, it will not open....I just get the "starting" issue described above.

Any help on troubleshooting would be appreciated.

I congrat you on the idea!! That's what I am attempting to do. Its kinda a time consuming process but if this is your passion like mine then it should be fun. I'm starting an online church to its kinda an open faith with just the belief centered that there is a God. I looked at some other websites and mostly Wiccan Coven sites to get idea's. I can imagine to get tax exempt though it will be difficult because there is no physical "church". Im still working on getting mine tax exempt but I got a Church Website and Church Phone number and everything you more than welcome to look at mine and take any things that inspire you on your website. http://eclb.weebly.com/

check out Godaddy.com about getting your own URL when your site is nearer complete. This should go a long ways to making people think it credible (yeah stupid of people to think that way I know ... Money does not equal credibility.)
