I just got ordained by ULC and I live in New York City, but want to perform a wedding in Massachusetts. Is there any further registration I need to do with the state of New York? I do not plan on performing any weddings in New York. I know there is a form I have to fill out with the state of MA.

Hi,

I was just looking at Mass laws, not sure what you need in NY but to perform marriages in Mass you need a Procedure to Perform (Solemnize) Marriages for Non-Resident Clergymen.

You can find the link here: http://www.lawlib.state.ma.us/marriage.html
it is located under "procedures"

Good Luck!

Ali - there is very specific paper work that is needed for NYC. You can contact the webmaster@themonastery.org- They can help you get the proper paperwork.

Hi, i was just ordained by ULC, and researched the deal (I live in MA), you'll need to send a copy of your ordination certificate as well as your "letter of good standing" to the Secretary of the Commonwealth annually. "Upon receipt" you're considered registered. I can send you a PDF of the info from the Commonwealth if you email me.
