A close friend of mine is a Pastor at a local Assembly of God Church. Would it be appropriate to ask him if i could preach my first "Church" sermon in his Church?

Absolutely fine to ask.....however.....it might be wise to see if your personal faith/religion/philosophy conflicts with the doctrines and precepts of his denomination. You wouldn't want to be mobbed by angry congregants at the altar.
