Hi,
I'm planning my upcoming wedding for next year and was having trouble finding someone to officiate. We are having a very small ceremony with family only and my brother came to me one day, offering to get ordained to perform our ceremony. I love my brother and am honored he wants to be such a huge part of our wedding.
However, we aren't sure where he should start. We know this site is where he wants to do this, but we aren't sure what to do afterward. We are getting married in a different county from which we live in..live in Pasco getting married in Hernando. I've contacted Pasco county and according to them, we do not need to notify them of his being ordained to them or the state. Is this true?

Can someone help guide us in the right direction?

Thanks so much..
BR. Joseph
If the county clerks office told you the information then it is likely so, I would simply call the other county clerks office to be sure, just in case they have some different thoughts.

Otherwise, good luck on the plans and hope things work out well for you.

Talk to the County Clerk where the marriage will be performed. Make sure you find out which (if any) documents they will need to see in order to verify your ordination. Don't drag your heels! You'll want to have all this communicated well in advance of the wedding.

As a Minister in Florida I can say that the only requirement that I have ever had shown to me is that I be ordained through a recognized church. Noting that ULC and ULM are both Federally recognized as churches then that is all that I have ever needed. As long as he mails a marriage certificate to the County Clerks office in a timely manner after the marriage so they can get it on file you should not have any issues.

Did you need to show them the proof of this? Or mail it in with the certificate?
