Universal Life Church Monastery > General > General Questions & Answers For ULC Ministers & Members
Wolf Heart
Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I offer an open question as follows; Am I a hypocrite for accepting and being a ordained minister in The ULC if after I have read Kirby J. Hensley's words and I paraphrase, "Jesus is the devil, the anti-christ and Jesus and Christ are separate", and my knowledge, belief, and experience are diametrically opposed to Mr. Hensley's words as for me Jesus is The Christ. K.H's words are for me heresy, however there is much he says I do agree with.
I believe he is a good man who cares but as to his belief about who Jesus is, K.H. has fallen off the tracks.

I was saddened to learn because of his proclamations regarding his beliefs about Jesus that there have been threats on his life. As for me, I quote Voltaire, "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend your right to say it with my life".

I have just completed a book that is being edited called "In The Name Of...A Jewish Boy's Journey To Jesus" and I was going to begin work on my second book called "The Christian Buddhist" but after reading two of K.H.'s books (A New Life and The Bible) I am going to work on a book refuting W.H.'s claims, logic and reasoning concerning Jesus The Christ.

For me, reading his logic concerning Jesus and Christ I liken it to a big piece of ghostly swiss cheese, full of holes and the rest without substance, so I am going to work on a book refuting W.H.'s claims, logic and reasoning concerning Jesus and Christ.

I have had the privilege of meeting Jesus The Christ in person.
I know what the difference is between a hallucination, imagination, illusion and real experience.
I can testify that Jesus and Christ are one and the same. Can Mr. Hensley do the same?

Now all this said, I am asking the question, should I burn my ordination certificate and ask to be stricken from the roles of ULC ministers, in other words, voluntary ex-commnication, because I totally disagee with Mr. Hensley, concerning this for me, an all important issue and stated dogma from the founderof ULC?

Thank you for your response/responses.

In His Love and Name,
Wolf Heart

Wolf Heart;
Have you ever in you life found a person that you have wholly agreed with 100% of the time? Even those closest to your heart may sometimes differ in their perspectives, perceptions and paths. Do you then walk away from them forever because you disagree? Or, if you believe strongly in your personal convictions, take the time to help educate those who are different? There is only one person whose teachings I will never dispute, those of Jesus of Nazareth. But still, I have my understanding of what His words say, and others have theirs, and that's okay. Mr. Hensley had his own philosophies and you have yours. This does not diminish your ordination in the least. But rather, it should empower you even more to seek a proper path and to educate yourself the more. Never, ever, throw the baby out with the bath water! Stick around, we love you....God's Peace....To`na Wanagi

Dear Wolf Heart,

I really don’t understand your dilemma. I’m sure you have already scouted about this forum and are aware we have many ministers of much variety, both of faith and experience. We have many ministers who not only disagree with Hensley beliefs, but in fact, have no belief in deities at all. Yet all remain ministers of the ULC just as equally as those who subscribe to mainstream religions. It is kind of the point to the ULC. The right to practice what you believe without fear of judgment and persecution. To be an example to the world that harmonious existence can be achieved without need of hierarchy, self-righteousness, or revisiting shameful past behaviors as the crusades. Such things are products of the small and undeveloped minds of mankind past. Sad and desperate attempts to cling and maintain imaginary control over others. Unfortunately, we’ve had few examples of a better way since. We may never agree, even for those who hold similar beliefs, but that’s o.k. We can still share and learn from each other, and even perhaps come to new insight as a result of that exchange. Just so long as everyone knows that there is no one better than another, and each remain tolerant and respective of each others views and feelings.
But when it comes down to it, the choice is yours and yours alone. You must do what is right for you. But please don’t feel the need to leave just because you don’t share the same belief as another. All beliefs are welcome here, and so are you!

God’s blessings,

Rev. Campbell.

I say leave him be if he wishes to run then run. This Church is for those attempting to move beyond petty manhood measuring. My beliefs are right, and yours aren't are the words that have been the catalyst that drives men mad, and into vicious witch hunts, and purges of religious groups.
