I get asked by lots of people for relationship and marraige counseling. Am I able to offer it now that I am ordained?
BR. Joseph
This post is likely to get a lot of flack but here goes.

You could give advise even before you were ordained; could you not?

Why then should it be any different now?

Are you asking if being ordained gives you any more authority in the matter of marriage?

If you want to open a business for counselling I would figure that there would be those that wish to influence the business and legal side of things. This will be different in just about every place you go. If you are worried about legal issues check with the local legal authority and ask. Your profile has no information on you so I have no idea where you are at.

If you are looking at marriage as a religious sacrament it is generally expected for clergy to give advise on the subject if asked.

Then again on religious matters my infant has the authority to speak up and say what he will if anyone asks him what he thinks.

It is God who authorizes a person to counsel others in the matters of God which include the matters of "life" and "living." Any minister of God is authorized to counsel others in matter pertaining to "marriage." Every conflict between people is because of conflict of principles people follow. A minister of God always counsels people to learn and follow the principles of God and by this, resolve their conflicts.

But as said, you may check your local "laws" in regards to declaring yourself as a "marriage counselor" for this "title" means different things to different people and some states have laws pertaining to this. Follow the advice of Rev. Wehage and check with your prevailing "authorities" who govern the affairs of man if you want to place a title on yourself other than "minister of God."

In the love of God,
