I registered with ULC back in 2003 or so to officiate a wedding of two friends. Now another friend would like me to officiate his wedding but they're doing it in FL. I'm a resident of GA. Is this legal? I can't seem to pinpoint it. The people I've spoken to at the state level in FL are no help. They don't even understand my question.

I do not know and would think yes BUT try calling the governor's office in Florida and ask there for the definitive answer. Take notes of who you talked to and ask them to fax the information to you. I would think this would avoid hassles.

There may be issues where you need to register your credentials locally or any number of extra rules put upon the minister by the county in question. This is different in every place you go. Remember that as a religious sacrament it may be given with or with out the states permission. You could do the state wedding (paperwork and licensing) and religious sacrament in 2 very different places and at 2 very different times. This way the ceremony can take place in Florida but the state papers could have been gotten out of the way in Georgia if need be for convenience. Just the couple would have to be in Georgia when they sign the license paperwork and what not, if you go that route.

Now for the disclaimer: This advice is given without specific knowledge of the legal matters of either state but given as suggestion so that you have an idea of where to look for more information accurate for your location. This is in no way a definitive answer to your possible legal questions.
