There are so many legal battles over the issue of ULC minister's being able to legally perform marriages,it makes me a little weary.I certainly do not want to get in legal problems for doing something that appears right, but may not be above board. The laws in Illinois read as though it is ok to legally perform marriages there, but that's just it....is ULC a recognized church or not??

thanks :?

Greetings to you my friend,

The short and sweet answer is yes, it is.

There are actually very few states where ULC ministers run into any legal issues. Most states do NOT require ministers to register at all, recognizing that they have no legal standing to regulate who is and who is not a minister of any faith.

In Christ's service,
Padre
BR. Joseph
what he just said... Yes.

Plus if you list what area you are in someone nearby may be able to offer local advice.
