Please join me in praying for him and his family:
Universal God, our world is so small in relation to the rest of Your Creation and our minds so small in comparison to Yours; yet, in our world, You have given us a vast and varied cornucopia of good things: life in all its forms, minds to grasp Your place in the Universal order, land to stand on, sea to sail on, air to soar through, food to eat, and others with which to walk in this life; protect our newly elected President in order that he may serve us. The hatred and bigotry that plague mankind can lead some to do horrible things; do not allow narrow-mindedness and prejudice to threaten the man we've chosen to lead our nation. Dear Father, open the hearts and minds of all to accept him and to accept the ways of progress that made it possible for a man from a race once enslaved and ostracized in this nation to rise to the greatest office in the land. Help us all to do our part to break down the barriers between peoples due to race, creed, religion, and politics; let us band together, let us unite. The era of slavery is over; the era of Civil Rights has come to its zenith; we are not different because of the color of our skin, but because of the color of our souls; let the light of us who strive to love and serve You and one another shine into the darkness of those who hold prejudice in their hearts. May the diligence of those who protect our government leaders see to it that Barack and his family remain free from harm at the hands of those who block their minds off from openness and acceptance, and harbor hatred in their hearts. Hold President - Elect Obama and his wife and children in Your loving care and protection; may his presidency be a beacon that caps the fight for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Above all, penetrate the thoughts of those who would deny these rights and liberties; change their thoughts to those of embracing diversity, love, acceptance, and progress! God Almighty, bless Barack Obama and those he chooses to help him govern; bless and protect him and his family, and bless the United States of America! AMEN.

This is certainly a unique moment in world history. Other countries have elected women to the highest post but I cannot recall a case such as this.

the sole issue i have with obama is his faith based policies. a christian faith based policy maker does the rest of the world no good. he gives me the creeps personally something is wrong with him. No however he is the first black president something fifty years ago was unthinkable. i salute him for meaking historical change already. time to make more if he fails though we are in bigger trouble than others may think only time will tell.

Obama has Christian faith based policies? I think you are confused. Perhaps look at who the majority of those voting in alignment with their Christian faith were voting for. I assure you it was not Obama!

i was referring to one of obamas speeches when he said he would stick to american faith based policies, and i thought ohhhh god a fundie in the white house perhaps openly declaring my religion was a bad idea after all.

They "say" anything, his record tells another story. He is as far from a fundie as east is from west.

I wept not tears of sorrow or pain, but I did weep.
My heart has been filled....no.... overwhelmed, with the great grace the Creator has bestowed upon us. Look! Over there is Canaan, I can see her shores!
Lo, our forty years in the wilderness may soon be over!
Hail to the Creator and blessed is His love for us.
Surely now, our cup does run over!
May we never retreat from the Spirit whose name is Truth...
Nor fail the spirit whose name is Justice.....To`na Wanagi
