Greetings to you my friend,

First, you should probably read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3612

There is currently a legal dispute going on in PA over the validity of ministers who do not pastor a physical church to conduct a legal wedding. The thread I mention above talks about the situation. Right now if this is something you really wish to do, you should probably discuss the situation with a lawyer.

In Christ's service,
Padre

I was asked to officiate a wedding in Sept. 2009. Are there still uncertainties about the legality of officiating weddings in PA?
Rev. Ismael
Officiants (PA): Ministers of any church organized, carrying on its work, and having congregations in this state may perform marriages in this state if authorized by their church to do so. Before performing marriages, ministers must file their credentials with the county clerk of the county in which they reside or in which the marriage is to be performed. Ministers must give the bride and groom a marriage certificate upon request. Also, the minister must send a marriage certificate to the county clerk who issued the marriage license within one month after the marriage.
