Prayer for the Darkness
by Shannon Paul Stokely
High Lords, Gods, Spirits of Light, and Protectors of Life;
I pray for forces of darkness...
I pray that they shall change their ways.
I pray that they shall be forgiven.
Oh Great and Powerful ones of the infiniverse,
I pray for the multitudes of beings of darkness with in the infiniverse...
I pray that they shall learn what love and happiness truly is.
I pray that they shall understand it and turn from their path.
Great ones of the light of the infiniverse,
I pray for the ones with out your light to guide them.
I pray that you shall extend a hand to them this day.
I pray that you shall guide them back into the light, forever more.
The reason I wrote this poem is to reconize that there is darkness with in everyone, and by praying for the ones who inspired it, maybe, just maybe they shall be freed of it.

Any thoughts on it?

Mr. Stokely...Paul?
I don't mind telling you, I stepped back from your
poetic prayer when I read the tilte.
...at first anyway.
But then, in a moment I barely remember, a small feeling in me
said, "don't fear it, see it and there will be nothing there to
fear".
And the feeling was right!
I liked it and I think it speaks as evidence of the exorable
chain of compassion we all have been commonly linked to.
Everyone has a connection to, and therefore
capacity for, compassion.
Thank You my friend, for sharing some of yours.

Not a problem. There are those who do not get past the title of my poem. And I find it that those people need it more than others.
Thank you for being the first of hopefully many people to read it and reply to it. And may all of our darkness return to the light.

Thanks for understanding.
The title of your poem, which I think is strongly
appropriate, reminds me of a lot of mythic
and metaphoric stories about how we have
to go through the darkness before we can
appreciate and/or benefit from the light.
"Yea though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death..."

Well, if you learn the power of forgiveness and prayer, practice it and believe in it; than you can do a lot.
But it all starts with you and the trick is to get to where you can forgive yourself with the help of the God(s) that you serve. You can't truly forgive others if you can't forgive yourself.

That's a huge statement and word of
discernment my friend!
I must admit, I heard that deep inside because it
echoes what my hundu and budhist brothers
once said.
Those words are so true that I've got to post something
on it.
Loook for me soon in the forum's
Spiritual Corner
under "A Sorted Sermon?"
You have seriously blessed me magus.
Thank You
