I am a former Psychological Operations Officer. I recently read Rick Renners book Dressed to Kill about Spiritual Warfare. I want to define the "evil one" "diablos" as a target using Psychological Operations as the basis. Some have given me Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis as a guide. Do you have any viable references that would give me a psychological or socialogical background information to assist me in this effort?

hi hun
I just joined, so not sure this is what you want, but just in case...thought I'd mention the book Healing Mind and Spirit: basics of Wild Card Therapy to you as far as tools to protect, heal, or cleanse attacks in the spiritual. you can find it on amazon...I think...worth looking for if that is what you were after

Hello ltcmacsf,
Are you saying you want to define the "evil one" as one who uses psychological operations as a means to manipulate the mind and beliefs of people? As I inderstand it, PSYOP is also known as disseminating propoganda.

Well thank you for the responses. Yes the "evil One" does use propaganda against us. There are many ways that we feel "his" presence. For a professional propaganda and Psychological Opertions are not one in the same. Under law and practice, we do not use false information only the truth. It does not have to be the complete truth but then we get into phenetics.
My purpose is to gather information on the psychological profile in order to develop a Psychological Target. At that point - on to develop a Psychological Program or what we may call Spiritual Warfare. I am afraid that explaining what all that means is a series of classes on how this works.
It would seem that providing a target analysis on general information of evil would be difficult but we (Army types) have developed very accurate profiles of Saddam Hussein and many other leaders for targeting purposes that were quite effective. Why not against the "evil one himself"?
I will continue to look and will review the information you have provided.
I am amazed that no one has done this before but then again PSYOP is not a field we talk openly about.
Thank you again. Please keep the questions and comments coming.
May the Lord God Bless you all. Mark

Hello Mark,
Using truth is a very good thought. There is too much non-truth being disseminated in this world.
The "evil one" is a type and kind of person. Not one individual person. Any person doing evil is the evil one. This one possesses the "evil" mind or the knowedge to do evil, often having learned this as a way of life; of living.
There are those who sin by believing a lie yet do no evil or harm to others. The evil one does evil and harms others by and with words and actions. This type of person is the opposite of the "righteous one."
Using this definition you find the many who are evil and do evil in this world of fallen mankind for "evil ways" are commonly accepted as "normal" ways to live life according to the social ordesr established by mankind; "fallen" mankind.

Hello Mark;
Just as DW has said, evil is everywhere. The task ahead of those who would like to destroy evil, the challenge, is to open ones' eyes and ears to the Word of God that is Truth. And the Truth of God will reveal to us, if we are willing to receive it, that evil is in our own back yard, and in our own homes, and within our own families. It is a pervasive and corroding thread that has no boundaries, no prejudice, and is no respecter of persons. So the hypothetical question is; "Would you be so dedicated to destroying the "evil one" if it happened to be a son or daughter, a mother or father?"
What does God require of us? To love justice, seek mercy and walk humbly with our God. This means the best way to destroy the "evil one" is to do these things unto him who is not worthy or deserving because it is what God requires of us.....God's Love and Peace....To`na Wanagi

Truth,
Yes that is the answer to all the problems of the World. "Diablos" is described as hitting something repeatedly until it falls down or is entered [the mind]. The bible tells us that our best defense is to read the "Word of God". I find that in a society of blogs, snapshots of life and seconds of sound bites that the choice of having this next generation sit down and read may not be as possible as we hope. I have no problem with those in youth groups or churches - but what of those [like my daughter] who spend more time playing games then reading. How do we bring them - the truth - the Word in their multimedia world.
If I had the answer then I would produce it. Manga has put the Bible and the story of Jesus into graphic novels which has helped. I want to do more. I want to fight Kosmoskractuos (Greek 2888) on their level. It seems easy for us to believe that such a profile can not be developed. It can. The devil can not create fantasy or false impressions he can only recreate what Almighty God has provided and try to prevert it.
God did not say that alcohol was bad - but he did say it could be abused. This is where the devil gets his strength - falsehood of truth. He told Eve she would not die eating the fruit but he did not say it was good for her to do so - only that she would enjoy having the knowledge it produced. And look what happened to us at that point.
I will continue the research. Thank you for the comments - keep them coming - we will find a solution to beating him yet.
Be Blessed with the Lords truth always, Mark

I found a Profile of Satan from 2005. It tracks very well with what I have found in my own research. Please review the information if you will. As you can see this personality can be described and hopefully fought by those of us who know the Truth. Blessings on you all, Mark
BRACE Character Profile™ Analysis
Name of Person Rated: Satan, the great dragon, that old serpent, the Devil.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rated By: Russell L. Smith
Date of Report: February 13, 2005
Sources of Information: Authorized King James Version of the Bible
OVERALL DIAGNOSTIC CONSIDERATIONS:
Significant Positive Correlations (in rank order): 40-point Hare PCL-R, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and Antisocial Personality Disorder.
Significant Negative Correlations (in rank order): Dependent Personality Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Schizoid Personality Disorder, Schizotypal Personality Disorder, Asperger’s Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
Analysis: In terms of overall functioning, Satan is essentially a sophisticated psychopath. Consequently, one would expect an associated Narcissistic Personality Disorder and related antisocial characteristics. The significant negative correlations confirm an absence of interpersonal anxiety, good interpersonal skills, and a fierce independence.
COGNITIVE DOMAIN:
Significant Positive Correlations (rank ordered): 40-point Hare PCL-R and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Significant Negative Correlations (rank ordered): Dependent Personality Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Schizoid Personality Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder, Schizotypal Personality Disorder, and Asperger’s Disorder.
Analysis: Again, the positive and negative correlations reveal the thought patterns of a sophisticated psychopath who is cognitively very proactive in matters of power and control. That is, he is an intelligent, independent thinker with a high degree of self-control, who is entirely self-serving, actively calculating, interpersonally engaging, and his thought processes and learning are not disturbed by or influenced by anxiety, guilt or shame. Value judgments are a matter of intellect and cost-benefit analysis rather than avoidance conditioning or obedience. Decisions to act or not to act are entirely self-serving calculations based on current estimates of risk and opportunity.
BEHAVIOR:
Significant Positive Correlations (in rank order): Narcissistic Personality Disorder and traits of a prototypical 40-point Hare PCL-R.
Significant Negative Correlations (in rank order): Dependent Personality Disorder, Schizotypal Personality Disorder, Schizoid Personality Disorder, Asperger’s Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder.
Analysis: Satan willingly acts-out to meet his self-serving needs, but he does so in a highly controlled manner. Given the extreme levels of force and violence, and lies and deceptions, he willingly uses, plus his “blind” and exploitive pursuit of his personal desires, his level of self-control (self-restraint and self-discipline) is remarkable. The significant negative correlations indicate a high level of interpersonal skills, which in combination with his extreme psychopathy and related narcissism makes Satan extremely subtle and dangerous. His presentation ranges from highly appealing to highly threatening, and he is adept at using the full range of reinforcing and/or punishing techniques to motivate others.
EXISTENTIAL:
Significant Positive Correlations (in rank order): 40-point Hare PCL-R, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Paranoid Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder.
Significant Negative Correlations (in rank order): Dependent Personality Disorder and Avoidant Personality Disorder.
Analysis: Herein “lies” the driving force of Satan’s psychopathic character. He wants to be free of ALL constraints, to have ALL power and control, TO DO AS HE PLEASES, to be number 1. Notice that the Existential domain is the only domain that is positively correlated with Paranoid Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. Satan’s high opinion of himself and his desire for absolute power and control distorts his judgment and is the source of his decision-making errors. His psychopathic narcissism exceeds both his good judgment and his good conduct (obedience). Note that Satan does not have the Cognitive characteristics or Behavioral limitations of someone with a Paranoid Personality Disorder, an Antisocial Personality Disorder, or an Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder, but he does desire power and control.

Dear Itcmacsf,
Thank you for what seems a great amount of work to complete and submit. However To`na does point out a relevant view. The breakdown you submitted can and does apply to a lot of people. Some of which I could conclude the same of. Unfortunately, this reminds me of a T.Q.M (total quality management) class that I was required to take in college, (forced to take or I couldn’t graduate). It was painstakingly designed to ease the student into a structured and well-ordered process of logical, but complex series of charts and graphs for the purpose of effectively communicating decision and problem solving techniques. In short, it was a class to teach common sense. But hey, it looks impressive on my resume!
The point I’m trying to state is that it makes little sense to point out the obvious. When the time comes for you to know, we have been told in the bible that the evil one will not be able to conceal his identity to those devote to God. God will point him out to you.
I too used to care a great deal as to his identity, that is until I read that passage I just mentioned. Now I spend my time communicating with God and writing and reading on the forums. My focus is on God, and I am the happier for it.
Speak to God on this matter. Just in the effort of your prayer, I’m sure you will feel so much better than you had during any of your research.
God’s Blessings,
Rev. Campbell.

Hello to those reviewing the data,
Some believe that "Satan" is more of a concept then an actual being. After being Baptized by John, Jesus went into the desert and was offered the world by Satan. In the belief that God Almighty and Christ Jesus are real - as I believe most of us do - then Satan is real as well. There are very real personality concepts demonstrated in the Old and New Testiment. You can see the results in the base document provided or find the more exhaustive study on-line.
The fall of Satan and 1/3 of the angels (Rev 12:4) began Spiritual Warfare on Earth when Adam and Eve fell to his enticement. This battle for the hearts and souls of humanity is on-going. "Diablos" must enter our mind in order to be successful. We in the Army (and other services now) call this PSYOP.
Now that I have a basis to work off of, I can begin to develop a counter-action or targeting plan beyond "Reading the Word" (The best action but one can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink) This is where I am seeking advice. I need ideas that are out of the box - beyond the Biblical word. I do not and can not forget the Words of God they are most holy and effective but as we as a society changes our tactics and ideas must grow as well. Graphic novels, comics using Jesus and Angels as heroes, these are not obscure ideas - they change the opinions of the viewer/reader. It is time for US to counteract the negative views of media and public sources.
Can you help. Any and all ideas will be considered. If I was not able to be open to new ideas I would not have survived as a Special Forces Lieutentant Colonel. Challenge me to produce the right way to fight the Spiritual War - our way - God's Way. Thank you, Mark

I have a relative involved directly in psyop. Currently doing a second tour in Iraq.
I don't get it at all. Well the first problem is that I don't understand war at all. Next is the use of torture to make somebody say what you want them to. Believe me, psyops IS torture.
My personal belief is that "spiritual warfare" is an oxymoron.
'Sfar as Satan, the Devil, Beelzebub, etc. whatever you want to call a negative spirit is not so much a part of the participants in a conflict but the ones that condone and create that conflict. The innocent die while the advocates retire with pensions that would support a battalion.
I've probably gone too far. But I still do not have any comprehension of war or why it exists today.
Hope I am within the confines of good taste and not attacking too much. I'm new here and it is obvious I have a few things to learn

That's what I get for not reading every word of every post! Especially when it is the first post.
The basis of what I meant to say isn't off the mark based on responses to the original question.
Once again we are confronted with pseudonyms; Diablo, the Evil Ones, etc. There are too many names for one entity! Does there need to be only one evil one? There is but one God... Doesn't seem to matter too much to Him (or Her) that there may be multiple adversaries.
So, why don't we just consider not fighting anyone. There is only one power. That is the power within you. No matter your religious or personal beliefs.

Rev. Dave et al,
No one would agree more that War in any manner is unnecessary then a soldier It is not the good that start Wars but it is up to them to finish them. Were it better for Hitler to destroy Europe, kill all the Jews, political prisoners, Gypsys and homosexuals (as well as anyone else they wanted) or Hussein to declare war on neighbors and destroy over 300,000 of his on people (a testy subject that one with 17 UN resolutios ignored)? War is horrible but required in order to maintain peace. I have seen far too much death in my life but I have saved far more lives then I have had to take.
PSYOP is Infomation Warfare. We do not force people to believe we present them logical information upon which to choose right over wrong. Is it slated - when was the last time you saw an advertisement on TV or in print? It is a way to do battle.
You asked how many devils are there. Remember when Jesus confronted the possessed man and took out the demons and put them into a group of pigs that ran into the sea? Should we ignore the evil and harm amongst us? Should we allow children to ignore the rules of good and bad? Are the 10 Commandments just sayings with no meaning? Spiritual Warfare is as important as teaching right from wrong. The battlefield is our heart and soul. God gives us the choice of what we wish. We who believe in following the Word of God must help those who stray through ignorance or influence. For example - if we see a picture of a half dressed woman (or man for others) are we guided by our thoughts or desires? Do we think sexually or humainly? Are we pure of heart or flailingly human? This is where we must look. Good luck in your own self-examination. We all must consider. Some say we all have the Devil within us others that he/she infuences us. If I knew the answer I would not ask the question. May the Good Lord Bless and Watch over us all, Mark
