Does Anybody Know If My Ordination Is Recognised In The Republic of Ireland??
I Contacted My Registrar But They Are Delaying In Their Response

Thank You
Padre
Greetings to you my friend,

As I understand the legal situation in the United Kingdom and Ireland, your ordination in the ULC is not recognized as valid for legalizing a wedding. What many people in your situation do is to perform the religious ceremony, then have the couple getting married have a civil ceremony also to make it legal.

In Christ's service,
Padre

Please have a look at an earlier posting. This is as far as I remember only applicable to the UK which includes Northern Ireland. Eire (the Irish Republic) is a different ball game as it is a different country but it is worth checking out at the local registrar's office as he/she may be able to be present at the religious ceremony and may therefore be able legally to present the couple with a marriage certificate.
