"In ancient days, when the world was full of mystery, it was easy to believe in the spirits who haunted the grove, in the God who cast thunderbolts upon His people. In the present age many are conditioned to the visual illusion, what you see is what exists. Remove the visible symbols of an established organization, the cathedrals, the churches and chapels the pastors and priests in their varied forms of attire and the church assembly for many ceases to exist. You can talk until you are blue in the face, about the Abiding Spirit and the Mystical Body but even among many clergy, you will be talking to the deaf. This sort of talk is associated subconsciously with the Charismatics and the Cultists. Discipline is the only safe word, discipline, elders, deacons, doctrinal authority and the Lord's Supper on a Sunday. There is no place any more for wandering saints. Most people prefer a simple religion, pay your tithes first and feed the family on rice with only salt for the week then carry away your salvation in a package. Sacrificing one's life for God is the mark of an extremist and they are to be shunned. Do you think many pastors in their right mind would preach along these lines or even about a new Christian Diaspora? Most likely not!"

g4cwa;
Well said! Isn't it arrogance and ego that corrupts the hearts of man? Their heart speaks to them to "do this", but they justify and rationalize in their feeble minds "To do that other thing". "That thing" will exalt them only, leaving no place in which the spirit may dwell. Jesus said, "Where your treasures are, there your heart will be also." And you are right to say anyone who would sacrifice their own life for God(however you understand God) is now considered an extremist to be shunned. I am one of them. Inasmuch as I refuse to bow to certain laws of men that perpetuate and propagate hatred, discrimination, and oppression, and am outspoken about injustice, I am then a perceived threat. We wish to walk a path of peace and justice, and for that, we are persecuted. Not much has changed in 2,000 years, huh? Nevertheless, I will hold up my head and walk that path, even to my death. I do not fear the ways of men. What can they take from me? My life? It is naught, my spirit will not, cannot, be quashed. I do not fear the long sleep, I have been there before. Now I rather look forward to it. I will take some artistic license and change the words of Shakespeare, "Tis better to have believed with faith in God and die, than to never have believed at all."....Thank you for your wisdom....Seek Peace....To`na Wanagi

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to pass on your discoveries in your own life. I too have ploughed a rocky road at times particularly in 1997 when I was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the stomach. However now not having had a stomach for 10 years and still being around I can truthfully say that the Almighty has used me more in these last 10 years than ever before. It on reflection seems incredible what the Almighty can do with a wreck who has handed over a lot of himself but who still has a long way to go in that respect.
May you learn more about your Creator and have a useful and a God centred life.
Best wishes for Christmas and thank you once again.
God Bless
Rev Bill G4CWA.

g4cwa;
2 Corinthians 2:2-12, Paul's "thorn in the flesh", your illness, my tribulations, all serve the greatest purpose, to exalt God and humble ourselves. "My Grace is sufficient", He said. In our weakness His power is revealed, and that is testimony to the resiliency of the human spirit and the will to go on. Yes, we have grown stronger in the faith and less reliant on the ways of the world.I will keep you in my prayers and take you into the Medicine Wheel with me.....Good Health and Inner Peace....To`na Wanagi

Thank you for your kindness, much appreciated. I have built Christian broadcast stations all over the world despite this thorn in the flesh as St Paul describes it. It is definitely a means which the Almighty uses to ensure that our weakness is apparent to men and yet at the same time He empowers us to do the works which He has already set out for us, only needing our agreement to let Him do the task utilising us as the tools.
I can truthfully say that before the cancer I was doing a great deal in my own strength which the Lord was gracious enough to allow to come to pass. Nothing intrinsically wrong as most projects were Christian radio stations used for the promulgation of the Gospel but they did not of themselves bring glory to God. They did the job as they were built well however when it became apparent that this old wreck could not do it in his own strength did the credit go where it was due. About me, I have followed the Christian mainstream all my life ever since asking Jesus to come into my life as a young man. I have been a soldier as well as an engineer too. He honoured my request and has revealed Himself more and more as the years have gone by. There have been dark periods when He has seemed distant but when it has been rough the everlasting arms bore me up. As one grows older one's relationship with the Almighty becomes more and more intuitive in many ways. The nearest analogy in human terms is similar to that of an elderly couple who have been married many years. Words become superfluous, they just know and so they have a contemplative aspect to their relationship which was not there at the beginning. Be still and know that I am God springs to mind.
Enough from me, it is early here in the Philippines and I must organise breakfast for my wife and myself. I am English by the way and my wife is a Filipina girl.

g4cwa I am still in awe of all you have done, I hope to accomplish as much in my life time as you have my friend.

Dear Jedda
I am really an ordinary guy Jeddah the special bit is not me at all. I reached a point in my life when I was on the bottom completely. Being a soldier can leave its mark as well as major personal illness. I prayed the prayer of the desperate, drowning man, God help me please and you can do what you like with me! He most certainly did, now don't get the idea I became an instant holy man, nothing could be further from the truth but gradually I became stronger, which after major cancer is a miracle in itself. The professor surgeon who removed my stomach said to me, Doctor (I'm an engineer doctor not MD), you will never be capable of working again I'm sorry to say, please resign yourself to a very sedentary life perhaps you could do some more writing? Well the Almighty had other ideas as one year later I was chief engineer of a large Christian radio complex in the south of Lebanon. (Before going I saw the professor surgeon to seek his advice naturally, he shook his head and said, look you know this is crazy after what you have been through but I know and you do too that Almighty God can work miracles. Go and try it and see what happens. ) So I went and was busy sorting out the four transmitters when the Israeli army who at that time occupied the south of Lebanon having invaded it many years earlier decided to withdraw back into Israel. This happened in 2000 and left me on a hill with Hezbolla firing at me. To cut a long story short I evacuated the whole complex, transmitters, antennas, towers, spares etc with the help of some Israeli guys in three days.This was all under small arms fire. Now only one kind of person has been trained for the moving of men and materials in war and that is an army officer which is what I had been. So you see it was planned long before I arrived and the Almighty as usual had everything organised. So you see Jeddah, I was only the tool with the correct training and was willing to be used by Him. Since then I have been to Palau to look after another Christian radio station, retired past retirement age in 2003 and last year retired from retirement to go to the Marshall Islands to build three more Christian radio stations. My wife who is a Filipina lady and I returned home to our kids on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. So as you doubtless by now realise all is in His hands and if you are willing He can do miracles with you. This by the way includes you too, remember I am nothing special all is from Him. If you sincerely offer yourself to the Almighty He will heed your request, it may not happen for some while as you may need further training for some reason so you are ready for what He wishes you to do but it will happen be assured if you really mean it and trust in Him
Blessings be upon you as you journey through life. Please tell me something about yourself privately if you would like to.

Rev Dr Bill G4CWA (By the way I have my own radio station at home and G4CWA is my official callsign.)

Who Am I ?

I am the stone in your shoe, the burr under your saddle, and the thorn in your side.

I am everything that irritates, frustrates and offends you.

I am Pain, anger and humiliation.

I lie, cheat, steal, rape, and murder.

I fabricate history to deceive you and delete the truth in your textbooks.

I distort ancient writings to meet my needs, defame your religions, and create wars in the name of all the great faiths and gods of the world.

I take away your freedom, your rights, and your dignity.

I perpetuate propaganda, rumors, gossip, hate, and dissension.

I despise truth, honesty, education, and enlightenment.

I will destroy your peace, love, tolerance, and serenity.

I thrive on dominance, power, and control, and my greastest sustenance is your fear.

I am arrogant, proud, and there are none greater than me.

Who am I?

I am your ego!

Well said.

May I add that this person of this ego; mind and spirit; is also the "evil one?" The adversary?

A type and kind of person with a particular mind and spirit not of God.

In the love of God,

DW;
Isn't it amazing so few recognize the impact of their own pride and ego on their own lives?...Pilamaya Mitakola....To`na Wanagi
DW Suiter
Yes,

it is amazing. But understandable. These are said to be "self absorbed" absorbed totally with thoughts of self and usually believing self is superior. "Self centered" with all thoughts centered on self and how everything relates to self. Without thought or regard for fellow man and the needs of fellow mankind.

It's the "me first" attitude we see in so many.
