Thoughts of an old pastor in the Philippines.
I am in quite a bit of pain these days and do not sleep very well. Ideal conditions for the mind to drift into all sorts of alleys and dwell on the things, which matter together with what the future holds now that I am on the final road of my life. Hope the thoughts will give you something to think about.
"My dear Brothers and Sisters, we all fear death, we all shrink from the suffering which may precede it. We quail from the mystery of the last leap, which we must all make into Eternity. However, remember, we are followers of the Lord, the Son of God who suffered and died in human flesh. We are the inheritors of the Good News, which He left with us: That death is but the gateway to life, that it is a leap, not into darkness but into the arms of everlasting mercy. It is an act of trust, an act of love, by which, as lovers do, we abandon ourselves to become one with the Beloved."

Wow, I'm very impressed by your reaction to all which you are going through.
My thoughts and prayers remain with you.

Frequently the fear of aging and dying is more harmful than the aging process itself, and I commend you for your view on the struggle that is life.
Ecclesiastes 12:1-8, AMP:
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.

Thank you both for your thoughts and comments. I have faced death many times as a soldier and seen it in its worst form. In 1997 I had terminal cancer of the stomach which nearly got me but I survived to do more work for the Almighty, however the surgery required left me without a stomach!
Life without a stomach can be interesting to say the least! I'm just an old doctor who has allowed the Almighty to use him as a tool for His work. That's the secret, abandon self and throw yourself into the arms of God. Mind you it is all from Him don't get any ideas of a holy guy about me, I am what I am by the grace of God and that alone. He is faithful and just and will never let you down. As they say here in the Philippines. More power to your elbow and keep up the work.
God Bless
